Today I’ll give you four general gambling tips that every gambler should know. I won’t go into a long, exhaustive detail, because these tips don’t require it. The concept is fairly simple. Know them, use them, do better. Let’s get started.
Gambling Tip One: Bankroll
Before going out to gambling you must set limits for yourself. By simply telling yourself how much you can afford to lose and how much you’d like to win, you’ll be ahead of most gamblers. For instance, you might have $100 to lose and you might be willing to stop when you have won $200.
Gambling Tip Two: No Big Six Wheel
The Big Six Wheel is a carnival game that will just suck your money out of your hands. You’ll know this game when you see it. It’s like a standing wheel from the Wheel of Fortune TV show. If you look at the wheel, you’ll see that most of the spaces return even money. Therefore, if you wager on anything else, you’re getting a really bad deal. And there are just enough non-even money spaces to screw you when you wager on the even money spot. You lose either way you play this game. I don’t know if it’s offered online, but if it is, run away.
Gambling Tip Three: Keno is Dinner
Keno was designed to be played while you eat dinner in the casino. Since you can’t gambling while eating, Keno comes to the rescue. However, playing it any other time is somewhat foolish. It’s okay to play for pure fun-if you really love the game. But playing it thinking that you’ll win some big payoff isn’t too wise. Keno is like the lotto expect with much worse payoffs. Many Keno players play while eating or they put in tickets when playing other games, such as poker.
Gambling Tip Four: No Strategy is Foolproof
There is no gambling strategy-other than not playing-that works 100% of the time. Read that again. There are some interesting and fun strategies that can help you have more fun and possible win a little more. In the end, they all fail-yes, all. But don’t take my word for it, go out and play one system for 24 hours at any casino and see how you do. And there’s nothing new under the sun. All the systems being sold as new are just repackages of old systems or they are actually based off of original gambling systems.
Have fun, play smart.

In our last installment of this Keno series, we’ll talk about Keno odds and some other items. Up to this point we’ve talked about some Keno basics, game differentiation and history. Now it’s time to look at the hard facts of Keno.
For starters, the question anyone should have is about winning. Can you actually win money playing Keno? Sure, but it’s not one of those casino games that you’d want to base your whole bankroll around. As I mentioned in part one of this Keno series, Keno is just like the lotto. The odds are a little better, but it’s still a guessing game. There’s no strategy involved.
While it may be complete luck, knowing some probabilities can help you make better decisions and enjoy Keno more. This is a game that should be relaxing and fun. Don’t get too stressed out over it and don’t become one of those Keno maniacs that submits 100 tickets per game.
Keno has 80 numbers and each game 20 of those numbers are selected. So, we know that each number has a 25% probability of showing up on any given game. And since that probability is so high, picking and hitting 1 number doesn’t pay much. In fact, it usually pays 1 for 3. However, considering there’s a 1 in 4 chance of winning, you do get good value for the money.
As you progress up the number scale (6-spots, 10-spots, etc), the disparity between the payout and the actual odds get much higher. So, we know that we have a 25% chance of hitting a 1-spot, but what about a 2-spot? The probability is 6%. So, if you play constantly at about one game per 5-6 minutes, you should hit a 2-spot every two hours on average.
Are you ready? The probability really takes a hit from here on out. I like playing 3-spots. I hit them now and again and here’s why. The 3-spot has a 1.4% chance of hitting, so once every 8 hours maybe. Still, not bad when you combine this with other stuff. And 2 out of 3 does return your money back.
I know a lot of Keno players and they live and die by the 6-spot. They rarely hit them, but when they do, it’s a cash bonanza. The 6-spot has a .00013% probability of being hit. Kind of crappy, but considering you can make $1,500 or more for a $1 wager, it’s not that bad.
Strategy
In closing, there’s no real strategy. However, one possible strategy may help live Keno players who like playing 6-spot or higher tickets. Make sure you also play 1-2 lower tickets, such as 1-, 2-, or 3-spots. A little cash coming in here and there will help keep you going until your 6-spot or higher comes in. Good luck!

Keno. It’s one of those casino games you either really love or really hate. There’s almost no in-between. The game itself operates much like the lotto; you pick numbers, numbers are drawn and you win based on the amount of numbers picked and hit.
As a gambler, you should consider at least trying out Keno. You may find it’s a fun game or at least a pressure-less release from other casino games. There are two types of Keno games-live and electronic.
In Las Vegas, for instance, there are a handful of live Keno lounges. You can place your ticket and kick back in the lounge as the games are run. Or you can venture off into the casino and follow the game on the keno boards posted. In the old days, all the Keno games were “called” by a human, so it was more personal. Today, the games are “called” by an electronic machine that imitates a human voice (some better than others).
The nice thing about live Keno is that you don’t have to sit there to win. Keno kind of evolved from food. When people would stop gambling to eat, no action was being conducted. To solve this problem, Keno runners would come into the eatery and check to see if anyone wanted to play. It become sort of a “thing to do” in casinos. Now, many people do this. Others place tickets and then head off to other games.
Electronic Keno has two forms. First, there are the video Keno machines that you’d find in any casino. Second, there is online Keno. Both operate in the same fashion. Unlike live Keno, you have to dedicate yourself to playing just Keno with the electronic version. The game runs about the same, but the pace is set by you. If you want to play one game every 20 minutes, you can. At live Keno lounges, they try to run a game every 3-5 minutes.
No matter what version of Keno you want to play, they all revolve around the same basics. The payouts are usually a little different. In fact, this is a great point to bring up before we continue in this Keno series. The payouts on Keno aren’t globally set, like Blackjack, Craps, etc.
Each casino sets its own payouts, usually to be competitive. Some casinos may wish to emphasize 8-spot tickets, others smaller tickets. If you are going to play Keno online, make sure you shop around first. And make sure you look for the payouts for the tickets you plan to play. While an online casino might pay great on a 10-spot, they could pay poorly on a 6-spot. If you’re playing 6-spots, then that casino isn’t good for you. Next, we’ll get into the basics of the game.

Keno is one of those games that you either love or hate. There are also two versions of it-live and video. The live version tends to be very relaxing, but it’s not offered at many casinos. Generally, you’ll find a live Keno lounge tucked away in some corner of casinos that have it.
Whether you’re playing live or video Keno, the game works the same way. It’s actually very simple to play. It works just like the lotto, but with better odds and lower payouts. Be forewarned, the house advantage in Keno is very large. But, it’s one of those games where you could turn $1 into thousands of dollars quickly.
The game consists of 80 numbers-numbered 1-80. If you’re playing live Keno, the game will use ping-pong type balls, just like lotto. Video Keno uses a RNG (random number generator) to randomly pick numbers.
In each game of Keno, 20 numbers are randomly selected. The numbers are displayed on a Keno board. That board is split into two parts-the top half and bottom half. The top half holds the numbers 1-40 and the bottom half holds the numbers 41-80.
To play a game of Keno, you must “mark” a ticket. You can select 1-20 numbers to play. The more numbers you mark, the higher the payouts, but the lower the probability of you winning. Let’s look at an example. Let’s say that you mark three numbers. This would be a called a 3-spot.
When the game is running, you “catch” a number if the number picked is one you marked. If you catch all of your numbers, you win the maximum payout for that ticket. For instance, let’s say you chose the numbers 1,2 and 3 on your ticket and they all came up, you’d win the maximum payout for a 3-spot.
Each casino is different in their payout and this is an important point to remember. If you are playing online, shop around for the best Keno payouts. Also, you should think about how many numbers you will play most. Some casinos may pay great for 6-spots, but terrible for 3-spots. If you love playing 3-spots, that’s not a great place for you.
One casino might pay $1,000 for a 6-spot, while another will pay $1500. It really does pay to shop around.
Now, in Keno, you can get paid for hitting some of your numbers. For instance, if you play a 6-spot, the casino will most likely pay a refund if you hit three of your numbers. If you hit four, they’ll pay out a little bit, and so on. The exception is almost always a 2-spot. With those, you either hit both numbers or you lose.
If you play live Keno, you can usually put a ticket in for multiple games and go do something else. A lot of people take advantage of this. They’ll put a ticket in for multiple games and go play other games while they wait for the outcome.

Keno is one of those games you either know about or you don’t. It’s basically considered a lotto in the casino. Like the lotto, the game consists of numbers drawn. The object is to pick the numbers that come up. The game of Keno can either be fast or slow depending on the casino. By playing Keno online you can control the pace of the game. There are also keno machines. Personally, I like live keno. You sit in a lounge, if you want, and play. Keno is a game that you don’t have to be present to play and win. For instance, you could put in a ticket for 20 games and then go play something else in the casino.
The game of Keno is pretty simple. In this article, I will go over some of the basics of the game setup and rules. It’s a piece of cake, so let’s get going.
Keno Board
The game is played on a board. The Keno board consists of eighty total numbers-number 1 though 80. The first forty are called the top half and the second forty are called the bottom half.
Playing Keno
Each game of Keno goes the same. The game starts, and twenty numbers are drawn. If you are playing live keno, they may have the ball system. Ping pong style balls are sucked up and chosen, just like the lotto on TV. Other live Keno departments use computers. If a number you selected is chosen, that’s called a “hit.” When all twenty numbers are selected, the game ends and winning tickets are paid.
There is a lot of diversity in the game of Keno. For instance, you can select one number, two numbers and so forth-up to twenty numbers. Usually, you need to hit most of your numbers to win something. For instance, if you select six numbers, you will usually need to hit 3 to get your money back.
Keno Payouts
The payouts in Keno are pretty high. The probability of winning depends on the total numbers selected. For instance, if you select two numbers, you have a 6% probability of hitting your ticket. Every casino’s Keno department has their own payouts. There is also a difference in pay between live Keno and machines. If you are going to play online, make sure you shop around for the best payouts first.
In downtown Las Vegas, there is one casino, for instance that pays $1,000 if you hit all six of your numbers on your forty-cent ticket. That’s a pretty nice payout. Increase your numbers to seven or eight and you get into the $5,000-$10,000 range.
If you have never played Keno, give it a shot. You just might like it and you can win big. If you go to Las Vegas, try live Keno at the El Cortez (cheap keno) or the Red Rock casino.
