Craps: Waiting for the 4/10 Payday

Craps players are not only the most diverse bunch of people, they are also the most creative. The game of Craps is no stranger to systems. Countless Craps players around the world have devised many systems and today you’ll discover another one. It doesn’t have an official name.

A word of caution before we begin. This isn’t some system to break Vegas. All systems are really just ways to play the game and no system is foolproof. This system can be fun to mess around with and when it hits, you’ve got a nice payday. It may be too boring for you if you’re sitting at a Craps table just doing this system, so think about doing it as you’re doing other things.

So, what in the heck is this all about? If you’ve played Craps for more than a minute, you know that the 4 and 10 are the hardest place numbers to hit. Each has just three combinations (3-1, 1-3, 2-2 for the 4 and 6-4, 4-6, 5-5 for the 10). However, these numbers pay the best. If you place and buy the number, they pay 2 to 1 each time they hit. This can add up in a big way.

Since these numbers don’t come up too often, the first part of this system is simply observing. Keep a mental note that tells you the last time the 4 or 10 hit. If the number (4 or 10) has been coming up, just wait. You want to play this system when the 4 or 10 feels due. Yes, each number has the same probability on each roll, but if it’s been awhile, that probability goes up-in a roundabout way.

Once you’re ready to do this system, you need to decide what level to start at. There’s the $5 level and $10 level. The difference is one “hit.” If you start at the $10 level, you need four hits for the big payoff (you could go three hits for a lesser payday).

Okay, let’s play. Start of by placing a $10 wager on the 4 and/or 10. When it hits, press your wager. You’ll press each time. After the first hit, your wager goes to $25. When it hits again, press it. Your wager is now $75. On the third hit, your wager will become $225. Now, you could take it down and score $225 for your original $10 or you could go for the big payday.

The final step is to hope it hits the fourth time. If it does, you’ve just scored around $675 for your $10 wager. It’s time to get a cocktail. If you started at the $5 level, you need five hits. Also, you could start at the $25 level and knock it down to three hits. Either way, this is a simple system to play and you’ll get hooked the first time you complete it.
